E-Learning

Salem, S.D. - On Tuesday, March 25, 2024, McCook Central implemented the first E-Learning day for students. Instead of making up days at the end of the year, the district provides an option for students to participate in classes online. See excerpt below for further details:

The McCook Central School District has researched virtual snow days as an option during the school year; we feel like this is a beneficial option when there is enough notice of inclement weather. Teachers, students, and families will be notified of a potential virtual snow day by 2 p.m. the day prior to the snow event. If the potential for a virtual snow day is not called by 2 p.m. the day prior to the event, then a traditional snow day will occur with a make up day at the end of the calendar as noted on the District’s calendar. If a child is ill or you choose not to participate in the virtual snow day, please email the building administrative assistant of your student’s excused absence and utilize the absence protocols as outlined in the schools’ handbooks.
